MediClick Introduces "MediClick for Contracts & Analysis" Hospitals Take Control of the Supply Chain with Automation and Analysis Tools Raleigh, NC – April 1, 2008 – MediClick announces the official launch of their latest innovation, MediClick for Contracts & Analysis (http://www.takecontrol.mediclick.com), a tool that combines automation, analysis, statistics and a dashboard interface to streamline the contract management process and foster informed strategic decision making for the healthcare supply chain and financials executives. “Hospitals need to go beyond ‘managing’ their contracts if they want to truly control pricing and streamline the supply chain,” said Mike Merwarth, president of MediClick, a developer of Software-as-a-Service solutions for the healthcare supply chain. “As budgets continue to tighten, pricing and cost savings are more important than ever, from small hospitals to large IDNs. “Our customers helped us understand how contracts were at the heart of their spend issues – and how there were no effective tools to help them navigate among GPO’s, distributors, and manufacturers. Now, we’ve given them that tool.” Contracts & Analysis is designed for use by directors of materials management, CFOs, and contract managers. It automates contract updates from GPOs and manufacturers, reducing manual labor and freeing up resources for strategic analysis. By streamlining this data management process, hospitals can verify pricing accuracy in real time, translating to immediate cost savings. Identification and analysis functions help eliminate off-contract spend, improve GPO contract compliance, and optimize tier-level pricing. Bob Venable, director of materials management at Medical Center Hospital in Odessa, TX, described the immediate impact of Contracts & Analysis on his 341 bed hospital: “Implementation and training took four days, and we were able to begin processing dozens of contracts per day using the new, automated process. “This tool identified opportunities that we wouldn’t have found on our own,” Venable added. “We had dozens of items being purchased as ‘non-files’ when they were eligible for contract discounts. MediClick for Contracts & Analysis monitors non-file purchase activity and called this to our attention, making sure we add the items to our catalog and secure the contracted price.” Bobbie McDaniel, purchasing manager for Baptist Health System of East Tennessee, thought that her hospital could not have started using Contracts & Analysis at a better time. An IDN with four hospitals and more than 500 licensed beds, Baptist was acquired by Catholic Health Partners (CHP) in early 2008 and given the mandate to integrate 218 contracts as quickly as possible to take advantage of CHP’s purchasing power. “After our merger, we needed to get all our pricing and tier levels in synch and adjust all the items in our MMIS,” said McDaniel. “We were able to use MediClick to streamline that process – it took us a few months rather than a year. A single 2,200 item contract would have taken us a week to complete; with MediClick for Contracts & Analysis it took less than 15 minutes.” AnMed Health, a 560-bed facility in Anderson S.C., was also won over by MediClick’s new technology. Director of Materials Management Carolyn Couch, believed she would never change from the legacy system she had used for over 20 years, but she found that “the MediClick solution was superior to any other we reviewed.” The fully integrated Contracts & Analysis functionality will enable them to dramatically reduce the amount of time they spend managing contracts. Merwarth notes that the functionality currently available in MediClick for Contracts & Analysis will continue to expand, introducing “additional analysis, models and dashboard components that will reach our customers as soon as it’s released thanks to our Software-as-a-Service model.” About MediClick, Inc.
