Tri-City Medical Center Implements MediClick for Contracts & Analysis

Hospital Will Manage All Purchasing and Service Contracts with Single Tool

Raleigh, N.C. – May 22, 2008 – MediClick is pleased to announce that Tri-City Medical Center (TCMC) in Oceanside, Calif. is its newest user of MediClick for Contracts & Analysis.  The 397-bed, acute care hospital will use Contracts & Analysis to manage more than 2,100 purchasing and service-related contracts.

Already a user of MediClick for the Supply Chain for more than 18 months, Tri-City recognized that Contracts & Analysis would fit perfectly into their plans to further streamline and automate their supply chain.

“Contracts & Analysis willprovide more timely and superior information compared to other tools which only provide analysis several weeks after the purchases have been made,” said Alan Coates, Tri-City's director of supply chain management. "Because Contracts & Analysis provides an automatic contract update with data directly from the GPO or manufacturer, I know I'm getting the best possible price before I buy supplies, and that the price is accurate.  I don’t have to allocate time to contract validation.  Contracts & Analysis will save us money and time, and that’s something everyone understands – including our IT, legal services and risk management divisions.”

Contracts & Analysis helps hospitals synchronize contract pricing, identify off-contract spend and analyze purchase history to identify savings opportunities.  It also supports service contracts as well as purchasing contracts.

That benefit was key for TCMC, said Coates.  “Tri-City handles a number of non-supply contracts, covering everything from physician services to software support,” he said.  “With Contracts & Analysis, TCMC will have a single contract repository and, unlike before, can mange all contracts with just one tool.  Now we can focus our efforts onincreasing contract compliance and reducing overall supply expense.”

MediClick President Mike Merwarth said his company is pleased to add TCMC to the growing list of Contracts & Analysis users.  "Contracts & Analysis empowers users to take control of their supply chain, and we're proud to help Tri-City boost efficiency and lower its expenses."
