University of South Alabama Hospitals Implements MediClick Supply Chain Solutions


Hospital group chooses MediClick for Contracts & Analysis and MediClick for the Supply Chain

Raleigh, NC – July 14, 2009 – MediClick, a leading provider of Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) supply chain solutions in the healthcare industry, today announced University of South Alabama Hospitals (USA), including USA Medical Center and USA Children’s and Women’s Hospital, implemented MediClick for the Supply Chain and MediClick for Contracts & Analysis (C&A).

C&A, the first contract maintenance and spend analysis tool with true two-way integration with a hospital’s materials management system, allows USA to load supply contracts automatically from HealthTrust Purchasing Group (HPG), its primary GPO. HPG collaborated with the health system to provide daily updates of all contract changes to ensure USA always has the most current price when purchasing supplies.

“HPG was very cooperative in working with us,” said Lee Kopf, director of materials management at USA. “They recognized that automating the feed of price changes helps increase our compliance with their contracts.”

C&A ensures purchase orders always go out with the accurate contract price, meaning accounts payable and buyers have fewer errors to reconcile on the backend.
