MediClick Adds Pricing Comparison Function

Patent-Pending Features Advance MediClick for Contracts & Analysis

Raleigh, N.C. September 4, 2008 MediClick announced today that they have introduced a price comparison function to their newest product, MediClick for Contracts & Analysis (www.takecontrol.mediclick.com).  Designed exclusively for the healthcare supply chain, the application streamlines purchasing data and provides in-depth analysis of pricing opportunities in a fully integrated system.

The new features allows the hospital to solicit bids from manufacturers and highlights which response provides the best overall cost savings.  It also allows users to compare locally negotiated agreements against GPO contract pricing.

Weve spent a lot of time listening to hospitals about the contract and bidding process, says MediClick president Mike Merwarth.  Many dont even have easy access to their own purchase history to see volumes and prices.  When they put contracts out to bid, theyre at an information disadvantage.  Thats one issue MediClick is addressing with this tool.  Price comparison builds upon the existing features of Contracts & Analysis to give users a clear view into their best pricing opportunities.  It gives them the best chance to save money for the hospital.

Says Merwarth, Hospital executives have been frustrated by investing so heavily in due diligence during bid and contract negotiation, and not having good tools to verify theyre paying the price they worked so hard to secure.  Contracts & Analysis solves that problem by tracking what the hospital is actually saving in comparison to what it was promised during the sales process.

Along with the latest release of Contracts & Analysis, MediClick announced that the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office has granted patent pending status to cover some of the innovative features in its application.
