MediClick Signs New Contracts & Analysis Customers
Six Hospital Systems Adopt Application to Control Supply Chain Costs
Raleigh, N.C. – July 17, 2008 – MediClick announced
today an additional six hospitals and healthcare systems have signed up to implement
MediClick for Contracts & Analysis (www.takecontrol.mediclick.com).
Many hospitals find their materials management systems do not meet their needs for
monitoring and analyzing spend against supply chain contracts, forcing them to rely
on their group purchasing organizations (GPOs), distributors, or even manufacturers
for this data. MediClick for Contracts & Analysis puts the control back
in the hospital’s hands, providing them with a tool that works in real-time with
their materials management system.
The application ensures hospitals always pay the right price for supplies by keeping
hospital contract files and item files fully synchronized. It also provides
sophisticated analysis and workflow features to reduce off-contract spend, meet
target compliance levels, and identify better pricing opportunities.
MediClick president Mike Merwarth notes that this series of signed agreements “confirms
the industry’s need for supply chain contracting tools designed specifically for
healthcare. CFOs are frustrated because they’re investing considerable resources
into GPO selection and contract evaluations only to find they don’t have the tools
to verify they’re getting the savings they were promised. Our application puts control
back in their hands and gives them a true advantage in future negotiations.
“We are pleased to welcome these six hospitals and healthcare systems to the growing
community of Contracts & Analysis users,” continues Merwarth, “and we are excited
by their commitments to take control of the industry’s complex contracting process.”
The six hospitals that have most recently adopted Contracts & Analysis are as
follows:
- City of Hope, a National Cancer Institute-designated Comprehensive
Cancer Center in Duarte, California, recently purchased MediClick for the Supply
Chain with Contracts & Analysis to improve overall operations and facilitate
its strategic move to a “just-in-time” inventory process.
- Children’s Medical Center, a 155-bed facility in Dayton, Ohio has
begun implementing both MediClick for the Supply Chain and Contracts & Analysis.
Children’s has used MediClick for Financials package for the past three years.
- Cheshire Medical Center, a 169-bed acute care hospital based in
Keene, N.H., recently completed implementation of both MediClick for the Supply
Chain and Financials. After a smooth experience with thorough training and
support, Cheshire added Contracts & Analysis as well, allowing the organization
to utilize the full MediClick product suite.
- West Tennessee Healthcare, comprised of six hospitals and various
additional services reaching 18 counties, was named by Modern Healthcare
as one of the top ten largest public, non-for-profit healthcare systems in the U.S.
With the addition of Contracts & Analysis, the organization will now utilize
the full suite of MediClick products.
- University of South Alabama Health System has over 550 licensed
beds between USA Medical Center – the primary teaching hospital for the University
of South Alabama College of Medicine – and USA Children’s & Women’s Hospital.

for Contracts & Analysis to take better control of its complex materials management
needs.
- Wheeling Hospital in Wheeling, W.Va. is licensed for 276 beds and
has been serving the state’s northern panhandle, eastern Ohio and parts of Pennsylvania
longer than any hospital in West Virginia. With top rankings for its cardiac
